Thanksgiving

I am gonna make this short because the Turkey Bowl is about to happen…( You are invited to watch or play 10:00 a.m.)   Today I am so thankful for knowing that I am secure in the hands of my great God and King Jesus Christ!  I am thankful for a amazing wife who supports me fully in all that God has called me to do as a man in leading my family and TFAB….  I am thankful for 2 amazing kids that I know that God is going to do great things with.  I am Thankful for  Sharon who has been a great help and support since we have moved to Bend in more areas than many of you know.  For My bro what can I say our youth and people are better off with Him here.  Laura, she serves she sings, she uses her shears wisely =)  My parents who resemble Aquilla and Priscilla who disciple, love, and teach this body we are so blessed.  I am thankful for the staff at TFAB, for Ryan we are blessed by your heart of worship, Tasha who is a joy to be around, and Janae who is continually faithful!  Thank you guys for your dedication to serving His people.  I am thankful for the men whom God has placed in leadership!  I am thankful for the unity that exist in the Spirit between us.  I am Thankful for all of you at TFAB!  For your prayers, for your passion for Jesus and the Word, for you desire to serve.  thank you thank you thank you.

Helps Ministry

I am really excited about the new helps ministry that has started at TFAB!  This is going to be such a blessing to those serving and to those that are being served.  I really hope all of you at TFAB on a regular basis check the running blog area of the helps site to pray through and see how the Lord might involve you in the lives of others in the body.  People will be posting various areas of needs and we (the body) will be meeting those needs.  This is an experiment so bear with us if there are kinks, problems, or any thing else that might come up.  We will be moderating what is posted, so please consider what you post before you post it.  So Check it out its under ministries labeled helps at the top of the page.

First Sunday at Morning Star

WOW! It was so great to have our first Sunday at the new facility.  I was telling Amber how much it just feels like home for this next season, and can you guys believe the Gym was 3/4 full and we had to put out all of our chairs.  The place was as packed as I have ever seen it!  Someone asked me what we are going to do next, my answer to that is simple keep talking about Jesus.  One cool story, the teaching (1 Timothy 2:1-7) was on the simplicity of what we are about as a church.  The order of the church which will be posted tomorrow but is missing the first 15 minutes (oops) But the church is to be about 2 simple things  Jesus and People!  That is the whole purpose of Tfab.  To Love Jesus, Talk to Jesus, Follow Jesus, Worship Jesus, and then to tell others about Jesus, to help others talk to Jesus, to help others know Jesus!  The one that is our Savior, our mediator, and our Ransom!   Now after sharing those things a lady came up to me who had never been to TFAB before, her comment “the church that I go to does not believe that Jesus is God Thank you for teaching Jesus, thank you for being so clear about who Jesus is that He is God, and what He came to do” (SAVE SINNERS 1 TIMOTHY 1:15)  That was Probably the greatest encouragement I have ever had personally.  Is there anything better the being a herald a preacher a teacher who proclaims Jesus!  What a honor and a privilege it is to shepherd this great flock!  I am absolutely excited to see this fellowship continue to grow in there passion for Jesus!  Keep up the Good work!  Keep Serving Jesus! Keep Loving Jesus! and Keep talking to people about Jesus! I will see you wednesday night as we pray and give thanks for our new president who ever that may be as the word tells us to. 1 Tim 2:1-2

Thank You Painters

I was so blessed yesterday by the great turn out of painters (ministers) that showed up at our new church home, Morning Star Christian school.  We painted our new Nursery a sweet baby blue, our 2-3 year old room blue and red, and we finished up the stage with fantastic brown.  What can I say – it looks GREAT, and the place really feels like Home.  We still have a few more projects for move in day, so if any of you are interested on Friday from 10 am-6:00 pm, we will be hauling items to the dump and arranging some of the classrooms.  Contact Tasha at the church office if you are available.  Once again, TFAB you are awesome, and I look forward to seeing you tonight as we finish 1 Timothy 1.

TFAB Book Review

Starting Thursday October 23, and running through December 6 I will be hosting a Book review of ” WHY We’re not Emergent (by two guys that should be)” By Kevin Deyoung and Ted Kluck.  The back of the book says the following, You can be young, passionate about Jesus Christ, surrounded by diversity, engaged in a postmodern world, reared in evangelicalism, and not be an emergent Christian.  In fact, I want to argue that it would be better if you weren’t.”

At this point I am almost finished with the book and I am really excited to sit down and talk through the things discussed in it.  This Book review will be for all who have had questions about the movement, have seen the problems in the movement and perhaps have even been involved with or are interested in the movement.  So come with your bible and book in hand (http://www.amazon.com/Why-Were-Not-Emergent-Should/dp/0802458343)  and be prepared to read through and discuss the content of the Book.
