TFAB Homework

You gotta love a little homework.  For those of you that were not there on Sunday morning you are going to need to do a little homework or perhaps some catch up work because we spent 51 minutes defining terms that are hugely important for our understanding of bible eschatology.  We began to look at Harpazo (RAPTURE) I prefer the term snatched it just sounds cooler and it is the biblical definition of the term used in 1 Thess 4:17.  We also looked at Tribulation also known as the great tribulation, or time of Jacobs trouble which is that 7 year (Some say 3.5) period of time talked about in dan 9 24-27, Matt 24, and Revelation 6-19.  We talked about the BEMA Seat Judgment of Christ 1 corinthians 3:9-13, 2 Cor 5:10, and the Second ADVENT or COMING of Christ.  We also began discussing the possible biblical timeline for the Rapture of the church.  Pre TRIB- Before the Tribulation, Mid Trib In the Middle, and a Post Trib Rapture of the Church, which means after the Tribulation.  All of these are defined under one category of Eschatological thought which is PRE-Millennial.  We also looked at Post-Millennial, and Amillennial.  MORE terms for you to now define.  I am looking forward in the weeks to come of showing why we believe what we believe concerning the rapture and the importance of having a opinion on it.  May God Bless you as you do your homework or as you cheat and listen to the study now uploaded in the teachings area.

O.K.  This will be simple short and hopefully Sweet!  My new baby boy arrived on 7-24-08!  What can I say he is a stud, like his Uncle BRETT!  You thought I was gonna say dad!  I gotta give Brett some love since I trash Him so much on Sunday Mornings.  Amber is Doing Well, I love that Girl!  I will be teaching tomorrow morning on the will of God.  This is somthing I am looking forward to and it will be a two part study as we see the will of God mentioned in 1 thess 4, and 5.  On wednesday night we will be taking a break from our normal verse by verse study and we will spend the evening worshiping the Lord, receiving communion, and taking some time for Prayer, and answering any questions about the Fellowship.  This will not be our normal Q&A but rather specifically about TFAB.  Also Thanks to Both Ethni and Blink Photography there are some Great new pics from Family camp, The Baptism and life around the fellowship.  Thank you ladies for your wonderful talents that you are sharing with the family at TFAB. Home From Family Camp!

Ok so that didn’t exactly work out the way I wanted it to. I was not able to blog from SOPPING wet Newport this past week, nor was I able to record the teachings. So in this case it is 2 strikes and we are out. So much for my new found techiness! YES that is a made up word but a very cool one and I am sure it will catch on! Family camp was great, WET, but great. We had some mammoth battles on the 20X100 foot slip and slide! People were once again grossed out by our amazing ability to toss chickens over a volleyball net….. I AM SURE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS FOWL! GET it FOWL like the bird! I am sorry if I ruffled your feathers with that one! Anyways! We had a great week. I think we ended up with about 84 people camping out at south beach. The times in the word were very encouraging, I was certainly blessed by the word Perry (one of our Elders at TFAB) shared on Sunday morning about being ready to step out even when it doesn’t make sense! I know many people were blessed by it. We actually had some people come and sit in on the study one night which was cool. the conversations around the camp fire were extremely edifying and I know that relationships are being built from this camp. The Lord is good and we were blessed. Sorry if you were expecting the day by day blog, I can say that we will be posting a slide show very soon as well as some pics into the gallery. I must say though its good to be home, and I am really looking forward to Wednesday night 1 thessalonians 2, and Sunday morning The perfect church part 2 LOVE. Hope to see you all soon…. If you have a favorite Family Camp moment be sure to leave some input.

It’s Time For Family Camp!

This has to be one of my most favorite things that TFAB does.  Probably because it reminds me of my old youth pastor days back at applegate when I use to run kids camps all summer.  So I guess now I get super excited knowing that this week about a hundred people from the fellowship will be packing up there, minivans, trucks, and trailers (DADS YOU CAN GET THROUGH THIS) and heading on over to South Beach, in Newport, Oregon for a great week together.  You can see some of the pictures from last year in the photo gallery section of the website.  In case you where wondering a typical day at family camp goes somthing like this we start out with a time of morning worship and a short devotional, followed by a afternoon of crazy games, a 40X100 ft slip N Slide, Raw Chicken volleyball and a host of others.  In the Evenings we spend time around the fire studying through some type of camping THEME in the Word….. This Year I am pulling out one of my all time favorites the BOOK OF JONAH!  You can’t beat that book while doing BEACH CAMPING!  I am sure our 5 year olds will be watching there steps around the ocean.  So thats a snip it of a day at Family Camp!  Wish you where coming, but since you are not, this year I am hoping that I can keep the body up to date by blogging live from the Campsite. ( WHO KNEW THAT STATE PARKS HAVE WI-FI)  EVEN A TECHI GEEK CAN FEEL RIGHT AT HOME IN THE GREAT WIDE OPEN!  We are also going to be recording the teachings this year and putting them online when we get back, so if you missed out on camp you can get a feel for it later on.  By the way if you are coming to camp this year and you do read this—- DONT FORGET YOUR GOLF CLUBS GUYS!

Now if you are one of the lucky families signed up to go, what are you looking forward to most!

Jesus is coming……

Today we looked at the reality of the return of Christ and how that affects the way we live.

It produces Hope 1 Thess 1:10

It produces Joy 1 Thess 2:19

It produces Love 1 Thess 3:12-13

It produces Peace 1 Thess 4:13-18

It produces Purity 1 Thess 5:18

What Else does the expectancy of the Return of Christ produce in your life!  How does it affect the way you live? How does it affect your relationships?  Is there a practical event that has taken place recently that you reacted to differently in light of the fact That Jesus is Coming?
