Easter Reflection
April 14th, 2009 Posted in SideblogWow! All that I can say is Wow! Well maybe not all that I can say =) After all I could NEVER just say 1 word, especially in a blog. That just doesn’t work. Thats like going to Starbucks and asking for 1 sip of coffee, you just don’t do that! Back to the WOW! For those of you that have been with us for a while….can you believe what’s happening at this Fellowship? I am amazed at what God is doing! Sunday had me reflecting back on 5 Easters ago (4-11-04 our 2nd Sunday at TFAB) when it was me, Amber’s Parents, my parents and I think Dave Enright sitting in orange chairs at Jewel Elementary for our first Easter Sunday. Looking back from then to now, all I can truly say is WOW! Even though I am amazed that our current size is 500 times larger than our first EASTER, I will be honest in that it was not the amount of people at TFAB that was the greatest highlight for me on Sunday!
Nor was the highlight watching Kelly, who has been practicing diligently, play his cello unto the Lord (GREAT JOB KELLY). The highlight was not teaching the beauty of the Resurrection or the wonderful words of encouragement that came from people who were thankful that the Word had been taught. The highlight for me as I noted on Facebook was hearing Lindsey’s family Shout, Yell, and Scream for Joy as She came out of the Water!!!! For Me that is what the whole day was all about. When I first heard them yell I pictured in my mind the whole host of heaven shouting even louder as they did. I pictured angels and a great cloud of witnesses rejoicing in song all together as she and many others were added to the Kingdom. After all, Jesus died, was buried, and rose again that we might have Life eternal with Him. That we might rejoice with Him, that we might sing for joy as more people are added to His kingdom. What a Joy! What an Honor! To be a part of that event. I know that those of you that came to watch the baptisms were as blessed as I was. When you see that take place it challenges you to be one to continue sharing the Word with people! It charges you to be as Paul said to the Roman Church – I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!! I can tell you, that moment, that highlight, will be vivid in my mind for the weeks to come, and I pray that Lindsey and the shouts of Joy that came from her Family are simply a small taste of things to come for the body at TFAB!
Keep Sharing TFAB, Keep Studying, Keep Praying, Keep Planting, as God Continues Blessing!!!!
Feel free to post comments or your own Easter Highlights as WELL!
Blessings,
LOREN

My highlight was that I heard the gospel preached clearly and boldly. Some church’s today just preach the happy, happy Easter, which is fine but thats not the whole gospel. Easter should be a both “happy” and convicting day. It should remind us that we should celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection every day. Praise God that the people at TFAB have open hearts and minds to hear the absolute truth of God’s Word.
