Jesus is coming……
June 22nd, 2008 Posted in SideblogToday we looked at the reality of the return of Christ and how that affects the way we live.
It produces Hope 1 Thess 1:10
It produces Joy 1 Thess 2:19
It produces Love 1 Thess 3:12-13
It produces Peace 1 Thess 4:13-18
It produces Purity 1 Thess 5:18
What Else does the expectancy of the Return of Christ produce in your life! How does it affect the way you live? How does it affect your relationships? Is there a practical event that has taken place recently that you reacted to differently in light of the fact That Jesus is Coming?

Pastor Loren,
I just wanted you to know the Message from the Holy Spirit was way encouraging today and edifying as I told you before I don’t try to figure out when and how Jesus is coming For the Word say’s No Man knows the Day or Hour The Lord returns Only when our Heavenly Father Knows the Perfect time for Jesus to get his Bride for the Wedding Day
I only know this which goes along perfectly with the Massage God gave you to Speak
Jesus said to his Disciples Work til I come ,Go into All the world and Preach The Gospel and making Disciples of Christ
I figure none of those guys really know that write these books and they have forgotten why were still here ! to be Witnesses and Preach The Gospel
I am greatly comforted with the Words He’s coming again but He wants us to Obey him NOW while on Earth ,The Fathers Will to be done to Shine as Sons of The Light that the Whole World will know and SEE we Know,Serve<Love The True One and Only Most High GOD !

Purity - I love the verse of 1 John 1:3 that says “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
If we knew when Jesus was coming we could do what ever we wanted. We would only have to make sure we cleaned up our act the day before his return, right? But, that would be the prime example of rebellion and would not be the example of what the Word tells us to do. In a way that’s being knowingly sneaky and deceiving especially since the Lord knows all things. We are to live for perfection (only by God’s power) everyday not just sometimes. He wants a relationship with us and what better way than being pure and follow his commands.
Here is an example:
If I love my spouse and she cleaned the house from top to bottom and told me to keep it clean until she gets back. Then went on a trip and told me that she would be back soon and she didn’t tell me the exact date or time when she would return. Then, I must keep my house clean and in order at all times because she could return at anytime and I would want to listen and obey to what she said. Now, if she told me the exact day she would be coming back I wouldn’t have to keep the house clean until a few hours before she came home. But, that way would be unfaithful and not pure. I found this example very practical and a way to help remember the Lord is returning at anytime. We want to please the Lord in all things and have integrity and hope in our lives. The eminent return of Christ can only help us in our walk and relationship with the Lord.

Wow, everything I say and do should be drenched with the expectancy of the return of Christ! I confess that it is not always. I talk about the weather, TV shows and purses. There are people that I see every day and I let them walk out of my sight without sharing the gospel and proclaiming Christ. I hope that my life will serve as an example to them but I do not sit them down and share the life giving truth with them. They do not understand the urgency of their decision because I do not feel “comfortable” conveying it to them.
This flawed little saint can say with certainty though, that I serve a savior who lives, who is returning for His church, and who will bring His reward with Him. All that must matter to me is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. He saved me from my fallen, sinful self and I am a new creation. His mercies are new every morning. It pains Him to know that some will not choose Him. I pray for the boldness to proclaim Him. If I can boldly approach His throne of grace, then how can I not boldly approach others to share what he offers? If I live every day in light of these truths I am content indeed!
